Driven: 2014 BMW M6 Gran Coupe

BMW recently invited us to Austin, Texas to drive the new M6 Gran Coupe through the winding roads of the Texas Hill Country and at the Circuit of The Americas. Willing, as we always are, to take one for the team, we accepted.
 
First, let us say that, yeah, we know, this isn’t a coupe. It is a Gran Coupe, and just like a prairie dog isn’t a dog, we once again observe that adjectives matter. For those of you confused by this debate, we summarize by saying that ever since Mercedes-Benz discovered, with the CLS, that some sedan buyers would actually like a car that looks a bit sexy, the industry has dished out a series of four door cars with swoopier backlights. They’ve been calling these sensible creations “four-door coupes,” which grates a bit on the rules of logic, but expresses the idea well enough.

Preview: Caterham Seven 620R

Caterham debuted its newest high-performance model, the Seven 620R at the Goodwood Festival Of Speed. Calling it the “most extreme Seven to date,” the replacement for the Superlight R500 can knock out a 0-60 sprint in under 2.8 seconds.
 
The Caterham Seven 620R is powered by a supercharged 2.0-liter Ford Duratec engine producing 310 horsepower and 219 pound-feet of torque. Gears are shifted with a six-speed sequential transmission.

Winding Road Video: 2005 Ferrari F430

A helpful owner was kind enough to allow Multimedia Editor Chris Amos access to this menacing 2005 Ferrari F430 to make these video.
 
This particular F430 has had a couple of modifications, including Fabspeed headers, carbon fiber air boxes with low resistance filters, and, perhaps most importantly, a carbon fiber cup holder.

Ron RXX Announced

Another Mexican carmaker, Ron Automobile, has thrown its hat into the ring, showing off the first images of its proposed supercar, the RXX.
 
The two-seater will put driver and passenger one in front of another like a jet fighter—or like the Caparo T1. Each seat will have a roll bar to keep the occupants company. In addition to the unique seating configuration, the RXX’s appearance will definitely set it apart from other cars at the track.

Captured: Spania GTA Spano Drives Goodwood

The Spanish supercar called the Spania GTA Spano took to the hill climb race at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. We’ve seen static shots of the car before, in black, so to see the car in motion out on the course in bright yellow paint is a welcome sight.
